Summary

Project aimed at improving sediment control, channel and culvert flow capacity and water quality in North Empire Creek. A sedimentation pond was constructed to provide a control point for removing metal laden sediment from the creek during normal maintenance operations. The placement of a precast concrete inlet box capable of maintaining functionality was used to control flow into the culvert that diverts North Empire Creek beneath the closed Empire Landfill while withstanding major runoff events.
